Apologies, we had an issue with a scanner app (that was supposed to scan barcodes more quickly) that only became apparent when entering the times for the Senior Womens race.
Although the app performed without issue at Pembrey, we will revert to the hand-held scanners at Blaise as this failure has been hugely disruptive
I have now reviewed the finish camera footage and inserted all the missing athletes .
I have trying to improve the speed of barcode scanning as it is sometimes too slow, and we were significantly exposed by fields (including Cross entrants) of
680 and 525 in the mens and womens events and there was significant congestion at the finish line and into the funnels
We will continue with the system for the remainder of the season, but it is now up for review given the issues at Cardiff
Also, at one point, 2 lines of Senior Men athletes who were supposed to be separated in the left funnel, joined together. This meant that some of the provisional results were in the wrong order
Given the funnel congestion, it has simply not been practicable to adjust the times for individuals or make changes when athletes have changed positions after crossing the finish line
