The Gwent League has invested in more robust position discs - no more soggy cardboard!! These are not trophies and should not be taken home! Please return them in the envelope(s) provided.

Declarations

From 2011-2012 season it will no longer necessary to declare teams. Instead a block club entry will be used. While a small number of declaration forms will be available at each fixture, it is advisable that you print a declaration form of your own. Download a form here

PLEASE WRITE YOUR CLUB/TEAM ON THE DECLARATION FORM AND RESULTS ENVELOPES. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY MEAN THAT WE CANNOT PROCESS YOUR RESULT PROPERLY.

There will be no limit to how many entries can be made.
In the case of junior athletes (upto age of 20) the first 4 to finish will make up the ‘A’ team, the next 4 the ‘B’ team and so on.
In the case of senior athletes the first 5 to finish will make up the ‘A’ team, the next 5 the ‘B’ team and so on.
We feel that this will encourage participation (particularly amongst the younger age groups) as there will no longer be any ‘non-scorers’. However it is still vitally important that:
a. Only one age group (clearly marked) per declaration form.
b. Date of birth is shown for all junior athletes.
c. Masters age groups are identified as 35, 45 etc. for women and 40, 50 etc. for men.
d. Athletes Under 23 are also clearly identified in senior races.

Affiliation Fees

It is important to note that League Affiliation fees (£25 for clubs and £15 for schools and colleges) are due and need to be paid on or (preferably) before the first fixture of the season. Please contact the League Treasurer. Affiliation fees outstanding after the first fixture may result in the forfeit of club points.

Pre-payment of entry fees and Fast-Track through registration

If a club, school or college wishes to pre-pay suitable amounts for race entries they may do so (Please contact the League Treasurer). In return this will allow team-managers only a Fast-Track through registration. Here they will be able to deposit their completed declaration sheet(s) and collect an appropriate number of blank results envelopes. These envelopes will need to be completed with the club name and age group.
When the pre-paid amount is close to running out (i.e. is likely not to cover the next fixture) the League Treasurer will contact the club concerned to arrange a ’top-up’.

Most Important - Everyone Please Note

The League will not accept abuse of any kind directed to or by athletes, officials or spectators. If perpetrators are identified, their club may be suspended from the League.

We still desperately need new officials particularly for registration and timekeeping.

Team Managers Please Note:

The scoring members of any team must be FIRST CLAIM. Any athlete that is not first claim will be scored as an individual only and the team will not be credited with their points.

Any athlete that is not properly declared 15 minutes before the start of their race will also be counted as an individual.

When athletes change clubs during a season they will only score team points for the first club they competed for.
The results of the Seniors and the Juniors are compiled some 100 miles apart. Placing the result envelopes in the wrong box does not help an efficient results service!!! Please take care when submitting the envelopes.

Please indicate (on the results envelopes) athletes under the age of 23 and veterans. Please note that veteran ages are on the day of the race! Please note that Club colours must be worn in the Gwent League. The penalty for not doing so may be disqualification.
